Merewether is home. I am based here, so this is the suburb I know better than any other.
Merewether is blue-ribbon and tightly held, which means people renovate rather than move. The housing is a mix of California bungalows, interwar homes and a few grand old period places, with newer builds scattered through. Plenty of them are a knockdown away from a view, so second-storey additions are popular here, chasing the ocean over the rooftops.
Being local, I can be on site in minutes and keep a close eye on the job. A lot of my work in Merewether is extensions and full renovations: opening tired floor plans up to the light, and adding a level without losing the street appeal that makes the suburb what it is.
