Short version: $4,000 for the standard build, half to start and half when you are happy, or paid off monthly if that suits better. The domain is yours from day one and the site is yours once it is paid for. Everything ongoing is month to month and you can stop whenever you like.
Who you are dealing with
Growthbound Media, run by Daniel, based in Newcastle, NSW. Contact details are in the footer of every page.
The demo
The free demo is free. You do not pay for it, you are not committed by asking for it, and if you do not want to go ahead that is the end of it. The demo stays up while we are talking and I take it down afterwards. It is not indexed by search engines and it is not a live site.
What the build costs
The standard build is $4,000. Half to start. Half when you are happy. The first half starts the work, the second is due when you have reviewed it and you are happy for it to go live. Bigger scope, more pages, migrations and custom work quoted properly after a look.
If the job turns out to be bigger than the standard build, I will tell you the number before I start it, not after.
Paying it off monthly
If a lump sum does not suit, the build can be paid as $1,500 to start and $250 a month for ten months. That is the same $4,000. There is no interest and no premium for paying it this way. Hosting and security is $90/month on top, the same as it is for anyone else.
While it is being paid off, the site is licensed to you rather than owned by you. It is the same idea as a ute on finance: yours to use from the day it goes live, not yours to sell until the last payment lands. When it does, it is yours outright and you can take it anywhere.
Your domain is yours the whole time, plan or no plan. I will never hold a domain over you.
If payments stop, this is exactly what happens and in what order. A payment fails and you get a reminder. Two weeks later I ring you, because most of the time it is a bad month rather than a problem. At thirty days the site is swapped for a holding page, which I can put back the moment it is sorted. At sixty days it comes offline and I keep your files. At ninety days it is archived. The balance is still owed the whole way through and I can chase it, but I would much rather ring you at day fourteen and work something out.
Ongoing costs
Hosting and security is $90/month and starts the day the site goes live. The Growth plan is $750/month and includes hosting and security, so it replaces that cost rather than adding to it. Both are month to month with no lock-in and no minimum term. Give me a month's notice to stop.
What you have to do
Send me the photos, the details of your services and areas, and any licence or insurance information you want shown. I will chase you once or twice, but a build cannot finish without them, and a job that goes quiet for more than 60 days gets paused until you come back to it.
Who owns what
You own the domain and the content from the start. The finished site is yours once the build is paid for, whether that is the second half or the last instalment, and if you ever want to move it somewhere else you can take it with you. Photos and text you give me stay yours, and you are confirming you have the right to use them.
What I will not do
I will not invent reviews, licence numbers, ABNs, insurance claims or awards. If you cannot substantiate something, it does not go on your site. This protects you more than it protects me.
What I cannot promise
I cannot promise a Google position, a number of enquiries or a volume of work. Nobody honest can, because Google decides rankings and your market decides the rest. What I do promise is that the site is built properly, the technical groundwork is done, and on the Growth plan I keep working on it.
If something goes wrong
Tell me. Most things are a five minute fix and I would rather hear about it than have you sitting on it. Nothing here limits any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
